        Hi everyone –

I noticed yesterday that my Holland lop’s right eye (which is clouded by the way) is shut closed. She doesn’t want to open it. I see no visible hay or hair that could be stuck inside, but I do notice it’s wet around it. I kept it dry the best I could, but this morning I noticed it got wet again.

She is perfectly normal as of now. No unusual activity, but I wanted to ask veteran bunny owners is there any home remedies that I could possibly try out or should this be address almost immediately with a veterinarian?

Money isn’t an issue, but I also do not want to pay an emergency fee (which is pretty high) for something that could have been resolved with a few things off the shelf.

I highly appreciate any answers and happy thanksgiving to all that celebrate it!

How long has her eye being clouded? Do you know what it’s cloudy?

If she isn’t opening her eye, I think there would be some pain & she would need to be seen.
You could try a warm wet cloth held over the eye or even a warm or cold camomile tea bag. If she sits calmly and let’s you do this, she may be getting some relief. But I wouldn’t spend too much time on it personally. The cloudy eye and now weeping and her keeping it closed really warrants a vet visit IMO. I’m sorry it’s happening on the holiday!
