        Hi there!

I have two bunz that live together in their cage/pen area. They are indoor. They have never been outside except for the walk to the car. So with it being thanksgiving I am going to bring them to my moms with me for the week. So I teach, and we have a half day tomorrow. Last year I brought her (I only had the one at the time) and left her in her cage in the car for the 3/4 hours. But it was 60/70 degrees. And she was fine, angry, but fine. Tomorrow it will be 30/40 degrees. So to save myself about two hours of travel (I live an hour away from school) I want to bring them and just hit the road from there.

Will they be ok outside for a few hours? I will put blankets on top and around their cage and a towel inside and they will cuddle each other.
But will the temperature change be too much for them? Does anybody know?

Rabbits can safely handle a temperature change of about 10 degrees. So unless your home is 40 to 50 degrees regularly, you cannot leave your bunnies in the car

Thank you Mikey for being the ONLY PERSON WHO REPLIED. Very frustrating

Hmmm…. Please don’t be offended Lucybun. There are litterally hundreds of posts on this forum. For every member to read every new post and respond, means a lot of time spent on the internet. Not all of us get home at 3pm (the time of yoru post), and sit on the internet. We don’t all either use the internet at work. Sometimes it takes a while to get a response, because people have plenty of things going on, like driving home from work, cleaning the house, feeding the hordes of animals, doing dishes, doing laundry, raking leaves. I only get on the internet at the end of the evening, around now… 11pm. Sometimes during lunch break. Maybe. So don’t get frustrated.

10 degrees in both directions… I wouldn’t leave my buns in the car unattended for that length of time ! Can you not take them inside with you to keep an eye on them?

Mikey gave a clear cut and simple answer (and correct!!!) which is most likely why other people didn’t follow up with another or the same answer.
