In two weeks I will be bringing home 29 week old Holland lops bunnies. They are brother and sister . I was going to allow them to stay together for a week before I separated them until they can be desexed. Do you think it is better to give them the week together to adjust to their new home or should I separate them from the beginning ? They have a whole room to themselves and will only be separated by a large gate.

I think it would be safest to seperate them until they are fixed. I would get second opinions but it may just be safer this way.

29 weeks? The girl may already be pregnant if they are being kept together.

If the female isn’t already pregnant, she could become so at any time. They should definitely be kept separately at their age. Rabbits can also mate or fight through gates/cage bars, so there should be a good barrier between them.

I’m thinking Hollandcrew may have meant two 9 week old holland lops?

I would probably separate but keep them right next to each other so they can still smell and see each other.
