My neighbor downstairs is smoking and I can smell it bad. Could it affect my rabbit? No, I am not really doing it. If I would, then I would go outside.

I doubt the smell itself would do anything. Your bun would have to inhale actual smoke for there to be any real effect. The smell is, however, annoying. I can totally see that. Have you tried talking to your neighbor about it?

I will tomorrow. He is cool. Just being a paranoid mama, after what he has been through lately.

Gosh, I love you guys for helping me.

I go to bunny 101 class tomorrow too, so I can get all of these questions off my chest too.

No problem. We’re always glad to help. It’s good that you think your neighbor will talk to you. I know neighbors, especially in apartments, can be difficult to talk to or raise concerns with.

Two of my bunnies are actually terrified of the smell. Our neighbor down the hall (apartment) smokes it so heavily we can smell in the hall and near our front door half of the time. One time we were going to go to get Blue’s nails trimmed and his eyes just bugged out and he tried to dig and hide in my arms as far as i would allow him to while we locked the front door (links to the hallway). He didnt start to feel calmer until we were actually out of the building. When we can smell it by our front door, we dont let the bunnies out, or we block the front door, because the smell sends Blue and Badger into a panic. My Bombur is unphased by the smell
