I bought some infacol (simethicone) to have on hand, just in case. Can I administer it using the dosing syringe that comes in the box?  If not how would I give It?

The dosing syringe in the box is fine, I just find it a bit hard to measure with. You should be able to get some 1ml ones from your vet though, it pays to have a few sizes. I like to have 1ml, 3ml and 10ml on hand.

I prefer a small syringe with a plunger for all liquid meds. It’s easier to measure the dosage. It also allows you to administer the meds in a more controlled fashion.

Yes you can give it with the dosing syringe provided. Infacol is a stronger solution than some so you don’t need to give as much as other brands.

The recommended dosage is 1cc (1ml) (20mg/ml suspension) every hour for three hours, followed by 1cc every three to eight hours as needed. Infacol is 100mg/ml suspension, 5 times as strong, which means you only need to give 0.2ml, although you can give up to 0.5ml and I tend to give 0.5ml for the first couple of doses just to get things going.

If you want to buy extra syringes, you can’t get 1ml syringes from a chemist, maybe from a vet, though you can get them online. However 5ml syringes can be bought from a chemist and still have increments suitable for dosing 0.2ml.

No problem at all, glad I could help.

When you ask for 1ml syringes at the chemist they give you dirty looks (it’s the size used for injecting illegal drugs), so they don’t sell them. Then when you ask about a larger size, they still think you’re dodgy. That is until you tell them it’s for dosing pet rabbits when they’re ill, lol. The looks on their faces was hilarious Then it was just “how many do you want?”. Haha.
