So we’ve had Thumper for a week now and I notice that when we let him out for exercise,
He now follows either me or my husband around the room while we’re walking around doing stuff. we have to be careful though as to not step ,
or trip over him by accident. To be honest I think it’s super cute that he follows us around,
and he just keeps looking up at us and sometimes lays down at our feet for us to pet him. Is this normal behavior?
Does it mean he is getting comfortable in his new home and that he starting to like us?

It’s seriously the cutest thing , and he also comes and lays at our feet for massages ?

Ok I just let him out for his morning Exercise and he’s literally on my feet! and then he went to the stuffed bunny that we can give them to play with and he’s been humping and nipping it like crazy!! He’s ever done that before! How do I explain to the kids what he’s doing?! They’re like “oh! He’s twerking” ?Thank god he has a vet appointment today! I need to get him neutered!

LOL. I feel at 10 your kids should know basic information about sex, but i wont tell you how to parent

His mounting and nipping at the toy is very good as its his way of getting his sexual needs out without attacking anyone around. We had a hump toy for my little nethie too when his hormones were at their highest. Its since become a cuddle toy for all of the bunnies when they want to cuddle but the other two dont. Its adorable your little guy is following you around and sitting on your feet; he loves you, trusts you, and feel safe with you

Oh good! I just got back from the vet, and found out thumper is a girl!!! The pet store was wrong! I’m a little annoyed because spaying a bunny is much more expensive , so not happy about that , but what can you do. ?
I guess my kidd should know the basics about sex , but my kids are 10 and seven I want to keep them as innocent as I can for as long as I can. ?

Oh I’m so glad that she’s loving us and that’s a sign of her trusting and loving us that makes me very happy

Lol sadly thats very common! I had a “girl” bunny when i was younger who had to go to the vet for “tumors” between “her” legs Either way, it is very good to have her sexed at this point. I hope you are able to find a vet who does spays cheaper than your current vet for her. It also makes a bit more sense given that she is starting to be territorial. Females often are more territorial that males. Do note when you get her spayed, it could take up to six month for all of her hormones to drain out of her body

Following and running around your feet is normal. They usually do this when they are excited or they want something or they are curious about what you’re doing (because you might be getting ready to given them something ).

Circling, on the other hand, is different. This is when they run in a tight circle around your feet. It may or may not be accompanied by honking or nipping. This is a love dance and it means they want to make baby bunnies with you.

She has circled before, but she’s definitely following us around the room. We’ve been making it a game actually lol

Mine follow me quite a bit, especially in the morning because they know I’ve got to get their breakfast :p Or when they see the hay box, they get very excited. They do follow me sometimes out of curiosity rather than because they want food which I find very sweet.
