        Hello, im a bit in panic but my rabbit, Cookie was found behind my washing machine where i lay some rat poison, i being a idiot didn’t remember i had put poison there from a few months back. I was gone from the kitchen for 1 minute when i saw her sniffing the poison im not sure if she ate any poison however if she did it was probably a nibble or too? is this serious? what should i do its late and i dont think a my local vet is open. Will like a bite of this poison kill or hurt her? what should i do?

          It’s potentially serious if she has actually eaten some. Do you have the packaging with a hotline you can call?
          What sort of poison is it? Some are slower acting but cause hemorrhaging. I think it can be reversed with vitamin K injections. Im sorry to scare you. It’s important to identify exactly what substance it is and what signs to look for.

            I agree. You need to identify the poison and call a poison hotline to verify. Even a small amount ingested can cause harm. But, depending on what it is, there are treatment options available. Time is important though!

              JG is correct, if a bun eats even a small amount of rat poison, they will almost certainly need vitamin K injections regularly for life to prevent internal bleeding. Get bun and the poison to a vet asap! The problem is the poison cannot be removed from the blood stream, so the vitamin K injections are required to offset the blood thinning.
