About a two weeks ago my two year old female mini lop Clover’s nose was running with clear watery snot. It happened over two days one day her nose was wet and dripping a small amount but then the day after it was running so bad she had puddles underneath her. She also wasn’t eating which made me extremely worried as she usually pigs out on her morning veggies but wasn’t touching them. I took her to my veterinarian that day and because it was only her nose running (her eyes and ears were completely fine and her teeth are perfect, no abscesses) he couldn’t pin point exactly what it was but he had a few theories, pasturella being one of them. He gave her a weeks dose of enrotril, 1ml a day and that seemed to clear it all up and she was eating again but a week has gone by and Ive noticed her nose is dropping again with the watery clear snot. I’m really worried about her because I haven’t found anything on google about clear snot without eyes running too which she doesn’t have. Could this be allergies? I’ve been trying to pin point what I’ve changed in the past couple weeks but I can’t think of anything besides the oaten hay which was a bit dusty. It’s a Sunday so I can’t take her to the vets today but if she stops eating today I’m going to try and take her tomorrow.

It could be allergies, as clear snot is quite common with allergies. Hay or litter would be the most common allergens, some rabbits are allergic to certain types of hay, so you could try a different type to see if it helps.

Aside from infection, my other thought would be teeth issues. Overgrown tooth roots on her upper jaw could be applying pressure and causing the runny nose. Did the vet do an x-ray?

He didn’t do any X-rays but he’s treated one of my other rabbits who had an abscess from overgrown teeth so he seemed to think that Clover’s teeth were okay, fingers crossed it’s only allergies ?

Rabbit teeth can overgrow from the tooth surface and also in the roots, something which can’t be determined just by looking at them. I would perhaps try changing hay and if it persists it may be infection or overgrown teeth issues requiring x-ray.
