Hey all! Quick question to ask…

Chomondeley was neutered nearly 4-5 months ago (roughly), and has always been great with his litterbox habits. He’s never peed outside his litterbox, and I find the occasional stray poop here or there, but for the most part, nothing. Then, I put a blanket down in his X-pen since I redid his setup and now his area is on slippery ground, and he’s taken to pooping on it seemingly intentionally. This only appears to happen at night- I don’t come home in the afternoons to find a small cluster of poops on his blanket. It’s always on one corner, too. Do you think it could be because he doesn’t want to sit in soiled litter? He still uses his box regularly.

Any tips would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Did you change his litterbox setup? I know with my rabbits, whenever I invade their space by changing their cage/”possessions” they poop for a while around their cage to show me who is boss (though they don’t pee anywhere outside their litterbox).
