What to do with dog crate as cage?

I’ve read a lot about having a dog crate as a cage and we got Violet one that 48L x 30W x 33H inches. I would like to add a little jumping/resting pad for her but I am a complete klutz when it comes to working with tools and what not. Do any of you fine bunny lovers have any ideas on how to put a shelf in a dog crate? Pictures would be much appreciated as I would love to see your set ups.

Hey there, you don’t need much for a shelf A couple of wooden dowels to slide through the bars, under the shelf to help support it. And something to use as a shelf. If you have a wire shelf already you can use that and I have known some people to use cardboard on top as a solid flooring, but it would likely need to be replaced often. Otherwise if you have a big hardware store such as Home Depot near you, you could get a small piece of plywood cut to size. Then all you would have to do is be able to drill a hole in each corner to be able to thread a cable tie through so you can attach it to the dowel and bars of the cage.
