Accidentally left two mini cupcake wrappers on the side table while i went to the bathroom (i shouldve thrown them out before going, i know). As soon as i come out of the bathroom, i see Blue fully stretched out reaching for the top of the table and grabbed one of them. Thankfully he grabbed the plain flavor one and not the chocolate one. I chased him around the living room and my boyfriend jumped in with the chasing as soon as he realized what happened too. But as soon as we could finally get a hold of Blue, he had already swallowed the wrapper. I read online on another bunny forum that it should be fine as long as he keeps eating his hay, which he is currently chowing down right now as i type. But i wanted to ask here just to make sure i have nothing to worry about as long as he acts normal What are some warning signs i should look out for, just in case?

        UPDATE/EDIT
So i cant tell if the wrapper has passed yet. How long would it take to start noticing it in his poops, if at all? Hes still eating the same amount (if not more) and drinking similarly but hes not pooping as much as he was before the wrapper incident. The poops that do come out look normal and are filled with hay

Was it a paper one? I would think he would be alright. Just keep an eye and make sure he’s eating his hay, etc. Warning signs would be not wanting to eat and gas-like symptoms (acting uncomfortable, shifting positions a lot, pushing his belly to the floor, etc.).

Yea, they were paper ones. Hes going between munching on hay and sleeping all sprawled out. His tummy looks a tiny bit bloated, but hes not acting like anything is wrong and still binkys when i try to pet his tummy (hes incredibly ticklish). His tummy doesnt feel any different, but im not sure how early i would be able to tell, either

I agree, as it’s paper he should be just fine Just keep an eye on his eating/pooping just in case.

I suspect very much that it would all be out of his system by now. I doubt you would be able to notice it in his poop either.

I agree. I would think paper would be mostly digested.

Ah ok, good! The other post i read online said that they saw bits of the paper in their bun’s poop so i was getting a little worried that i couldnt find anything in my Bluey’s poop. Thank you both

I got the giggles late last night imaging you finding a perfectly formed little cupcake wrapper with a poo in it. Must have been long past my time for bed!
Glad he doesn’t seem to be suffering any ill effects.
I agree, the paper fibre would be broken down. Some rabbits eat plenty paper and cardboard. Not the best type of fibre but for some it doesn’t affect them in the least, for other rabbits it can be problematic. That is large quantities of paper though.

I am glad to say i did not find a bunny poop cupcake! There were chocolate cupcakes that he didnt go near, but that would not have been a very good surprise treat from my bun if that did happen lol

I’m guessing he’s all well by this point Hooray for Blue!
