I have tried using a hay rack and my bunnies just pull it out and start peeing and pooping on it, so I tried just putting a huge pile on a plate and they do the same thing just go to the bathroom on it. Any suggestions on how to feed them their daily hay without having to worry about them going to the bathroom on it constantly ?

My suggestions are to try a different type of hay rack, or perhaps more importantly, a different type or brand of hay. Some rabbits are very fussy with hay so trying a different type could help. A different hay rack may prevent them from pulling all the hay out, but at the very least will keep the majority of it off the floor for at least a little bit before they pee on it. Definitely try a different type of hay though

What kind of hay rack ? The hay rack I used was attached the outside of the cage, but they would just pull it through and make a big mess and end up using it to go to the bathroom on. With the hay I have I still have a lot more and they still do eat some when I put new fresh hay in. They just dont eat it all and end up just pulling it out.

              Hi there,

I know my buns like to pull the hay out of the rack, no matter what I do, they pull it into their litter box and pee and poop on it but they also eat it too.

Some buns just like it in their litter box and feel more comfortable with it in there. Mine get fussy no matter what brand and where I place it. Sometimes you have to let them decide haha. I hope this helps. You could buy a hayrack that is attatched to the litter box to help deter them from pulling it out.
