Hi there, hadn’t noticed anything before now, but this morning Henry has tiny red spots (more like raised pimples) on the inside of his ears, which when scratched are very red…  in both ears.

        Any ideas ?

I haven’t changed hay – same packet as over a week ago.

He has had wooden pellets for litter for one week now.

And I do bring willow branches home…

Zou has always had little tiny pimples in her ears, but they don’t break the skin and don’t seem to annoy her.

I cant be sure, but my cat had a similar thing in her ears caused by mites…has he been checked/treated for them?
I’vr never seen it in rabbits before though so not very helpful

Has he been treated for mites? It doesn’t really look like fur mites on rabbits usually looks- or rabbit ear mites, they tend to start deep in the ear canal and work their way up. Getting him treated with a round of Revolution (called Stronghold in some EU-countries) wouldn’t hurt of course.

Not sure if it’s mites or not – we are due to go for check up for his jewels next week so I’ll ask then….

I’ll also re-ask about worming and also about hyperactivity in rabbits ! He. Is. Non. Stop.

Ask the vet about the ears, meanwhile just keep them clean. Maybe put on some OTC anti-bacterial ointment. When Bam had itchy sores in his ears I cleaned his feet too, to prevent dirt from getting into the sores. (His sores were a reaction to a vaccine and didn’t look at all like Henry’s.)

I can’t comment on the bumps, but just look at the size of those ears!!! <3

Looks like mites to me… their poop can cause allergies in skin.

Has he been scratching his ears? The scabs are shaped like scratch marks almost.

How long has he been neutered now? He might be peaking.

I think he has been scratching. A bit. Not obsessively. Neutered 3 weeks ago tomorrow. And counting…

Yeah, he’s probably pumped up right about now.

LOL – he brings down the xpen when he is hungry and has started doing uncontrollable sprints into the barriers…. maybe his ears are making him itch and he’s trying to run from them.

Vets tomorrow for possible stitches out, so i’ll hopefully get him demited, dewormed and vaccinated RHDHDHV2DV2 (I never know which order they are in FR/ENG/FR/ENG.. )
