        Hello!

So I have had my bunny for about a month now and she is such a joy! I have just started letting her up on the bed but found she pees on one corner of the bed. Her cage is right up against the base of the bed and she pees close to the same corner that she pees in her cage. If I put a littler box on that corner of the bed would that solve the issue? Also I have heard that bunnies peeing on this that smell like you is a way of showing their dominance. Is this true? Is it still OK to put a litter box on the bed or will she think she is the top bunny?

        Thanks for any help!

Rabbits just like to pee on soft things. Beds, couches, and blankets are common things for buns to pee on You can try putting a litter box there, but if she is peeing on it because its soft, the litter box will only cause her to look for a new spot on the bed to pee on

I think she is just peeing on it since it close to her pee corner in her cage. Its only ever in one corner and she never pees on anything else soft?

We had this issue with our new bunny shortly after we got him right after neutering. I stripped the bed down and actually took the mattress out of the room for a week until a mattress encasing arrived. He never did it again. I’m not sure if it was hormones, or just that he hadn’t fully committed to a spot to pee yet, since it was a new environment for him. I think you could put a litter box on a bed, but personally I wouldn’t want to – anytime you move on the mattress it would likely move around and could fall off. Plus, it just doesn’t seem very sanitary, but that’s me. As others have said, I’m also not sure it would solve the problem. But I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t try it and see if it works for you.

You could move the cage to start with…. to move his litter corner in the cage away from the bed.
And really, really clean the bed linen/mattress, where his odour surely remains…

Thanks for the advice! I ended up putting cardboard over the end of my bed when she is out and so far no accidents.
