Hi everyone. This is my bunny Phoebe. I noticed some buildup in her ears today while grooming her. I’m a little worried as to what I should do. I adopted her and her boyfriend in 2015 and so far, have not needed to clean their ears at home. I know from the rescue I got her at that when she was found she had a severe case of ear mites and I am worried that this might be mites and not just ear wax. She hasn’t been scratching or itching aside from her usual grooming routine. Her boyfriend Buddy has really clean ears right now and he is showing no signs at all of buildup. My roommates cat has had on and off flees the past couple months and I’ve tried my hardest to keep him away from my rabbits. Her other ear looks a little more red but the file won’t upload.

Oh, hard to say! Because there is a litte red there, like a sore where something has been scratched off, Im more inclined to think it could be mites. Ear wax would probably be easier to move if she’s tried clean it out with her hind foot, where as mite crusts adhere more.

Maybe do a dose of Revolution just in case? Especially if she has had ear mites before.
