so I’ll start off by telling you how my rabbits cage is set up.. I have a c&c cage set on top of a floor consisting of foam mats, covered in a layer of puppy pee pads, covered by a fleece blanket… well my bunny has eaten/shredded up a bunch of the pee pads and has eaten a large hole out of a foam mat!!! The vet isn’t open.. what do I do?!! What do I look out for?!! :'((((

Ingestion of foam can result in blockage, though there is a possibility that your bun may be able to pass it and poop it out. Be on the look out for lethargy or not pooping, as well as not eating or drinking.

Are you sure the foam was actually ingested?

I’m sorry to hear about this. Some rabbits cannot be trusted with certain materials. LBJ10 may be correct and the foam mats may not have been ingested. Bandit was just like that, he loved to chew on foam mats and pull pieces off, but he never actually ate any. If he had eaten any I wouldn’t have continued using them with him, but I left them because he liked to lay on them and only occasionally would go on a shredding tirade of one. That being said, if your bunny has ingested some, you do need to be very wary of a potential blockage. Monitor poop and eating, and if you suspect that it’s not going well, a rabbit savvy vet is a must to clear the blockage. I would also be concerned about the pee pads, since I believe they swell when wet to help absorb the moisture? This could potentially be more harmful in your rabbit’s gut than small pieces of foam from the mats.
