Hey all!! So, up until now I’ve been feeding my bunnies mostly similar items, romaine lettuce, kale, cilantro, parsley, wheat grass, and other similar combinations to give them three different veggies everyday equaling about 2 cups. So recently I started to switch it up a bit, (I know I hate eating the same thing over and over!) I tried eggplant, I tried yellow squash, and I’ve tried asparagus. These are the three new things that I’ve tried that they won’t eat. They pick everything else out and leave those behind. So I’m wondering, do I need to do something different to the veggies to make my buns want to eat them? I don’t know like cook it or timing or something?

I don’t know whether your bunnies are picky or not – but I have a very picky bun who does not appreciate his routine with regards food being changed much!
Theo will only eat leafy veg really – I’ve tried him with asparagus in the past, peppers etc but he won’t touch them whereas he loves his leafy veg and herbs. I suppose your bunnies like what they like. Things like squash may be high in sugar so be careful of that, as well as some ‘gassy’ veggies can cause tummy troubles such as broccoli and cabbage. Having said that all these things should be fine in small amounts!
Nothing wrong with experimenting with a few different veggies but bunnies will only eat what they like just like humans I suppose. The other thing is I know sometimes Theo needs to take a few tries at something new before he decides he likes it.

Thanks theodorusrex, I’ll try again to see if maybe it’s just “the scary unknown” or if there going to be picky like everything else in my house! Lol! And yes, I know some veggies even carrots need to be given in smaller amounts due to sugar but thanks for the heads up.
