        Hey friends,
A couple weeks ago I brought home an unaltered buck (milo), he’s in the same area as my unaltered doe (luna), theyre just in different pens. I have another buck (casper) but he’s already neutered and my doe never makes this sound when theyre hanging out together. She will be 6 months this month. Since I brought home milo, she’s been making this weird sound when he goes near her pen, she’s even started making it sometimes when I put my hands near her or just out of the blue when no one is near her she’ll make the sound for a second then stop. It’s not honking, grunting or teeth grinding. I really can’t explain it, it sort of sounds like a clucking chicken/baby/a creaky bed (sorry for the poor description). I’ve never heard this sound before.
Would anyone have any idea of what it could be or why?
        Thank you

Could be hormonal humming sound some do…
Are their pens far apart from each other or adjoined?

How long ago was Casper desexed before he and she hung out?

Milo and lunas pens are apart and caspers been neutered since june, i’ve always let him be around luna since the day I got her. Casper and luna are together alot of the time but they stay in seperate areas come night time, just incase she starts getting aggressive since she isnt spayed yet. And I obviously don’t let milo be with luna atm since neither of them are desexed yet.

Oh that’s good then. The bucks can still impregnate a sexually mature doe up to 4 weeks after being desexed. You’re well past that timeframe.
Since she is just 6 months and their a new intact buck around, I’d say the sounds are hormonally driven. Sometimes it can even trigger a false pregnancy.
I *think* I know the sound you mean since you said “creaking bed”. lol When my first rabbit reached around 4-5 months of age I could hear this creaking sound as she hopped around. I use to joke she needed her joints oiled. They do a little short hum sound.

Lol I felt funny using a creaking bed as a way to describe it. Thanks for replying, I had a feeling it would be hormonal but just wanted to get another point of view
