Hi, I have a 3 month old Holland Lop bunny and when I took him out into his play pen today for exercise, he started running around in frantic circles. I couldn’t tell if he was happy or scared since he also stomped his feet every so often. He stopped after a while but I was worried about this behavior. I wasn’t sure if it had to deal with him growing older and not having been neutered yet? (Although I plan on getting him neutered when he’s old enough). I’ve taken him out into the pen numerous other times before and he hasn’t acted like this then. Thank you.

          Is he ok now?

The circling can be hormonal. If he is acting normally now, I would think the behavior is the hormones kicking in. He is three months old and typically the testes drop at 12 weeks, so right on time.

I don’t think of thumping as happy behavior, but it could be excited behavior.

Hi, thanks for the help! Yes he’s calmer now and seems to be acting as normal, so perhaps it is just the hormones. Thanks so much.
