I’m sure this has been done before, but in light of the thread “Im done” and the “Naughty things your bunny has done” I feel there’s maybe a lot of negatives floating around about the little tykes(All in good spirit mind you)

I thought it might be a nice idea to recount the things that your bunny does to make up for all their mischief! And how they’ve managed to ingratiate themselves so much to us, that they’ve been granted almost endless impunity in our homes!

Whether its something specific they do or if they just make you smile, bring some comfort to you or are just so ridiculous you cant help but laugh!

Basically a “Why my Bun is the Best” thread

Odette lights up a room. I went six years without a bunny and now I can’t imagine life without her sweet, inquisitive face.

My favorite Odette thing, I think, is when she jumps on the couch and nudges my hand to pet her. She will sit there for thirty minutes and if I stop, she nudges again.

She loves to play peekaboo with the blanket. I’ll place part of the blanket over her head and ask “Where is Odette?” She gets mad if I stop too soon and pads at the blanket.

Odette walks me to the door and greets me when I get home.

She steals the cat toys. The cats know she’s dominant

I have two betta. She ignores Selkie, but is all over Saoirse (nickname Bubblegum) when I feed Saoirse or change her water. As crazy as this sounds, I can say “where is Bubblegum,” and Odette will periscope at Saoirse’s aquarium.

Sometimes I lay on the floor and Odette has to be near me with her feet touching me. She’s just very lovey. Which is such a change from the timid, scared bunny we brought home. I would have loved her regardless, but it has been a joy to see her become such a brave bunny.

She is just a delight. I do understand all the frustrations. She chews. She is stubborn. She pees on me or anyone dumb enough to nap on the couch. We have had a couple of scary weeks with odd poop because she eats carpet while we are asleep. That’s why I bought the Xpen. We’ve had three vet visits in three months. I am just grateful everything has been minor and that we have a good vet. Odette is worth all those frustrations and fears. I love her with every ounce of me and she returns that love. She’s made a tough year into something sweet and beautiful. I see her and all the tension just falls from me. And, she kind of likes me too

I could write a book about all the reasons that Chewie lights up my world. But when I want to bask in the afterglow of my love for him, I simply close my eyes and think about how it feels when he stretches his little face toward mine so we can smoosh our noses and cheeks together and just breathe each other in.

Odette does have an inquisitive face – she looks like a bunny psychologist in her pic with those light colored looking eyebrows and studying stare.

It makes me laugh when Luna jumps on my bed and tries to furiously dig through my pillow because it looks like she’s punching it with fast little paw jabs. It’s also pretty funny when she runs over Oreo (my cat) when she can’t get to her leafy green breakfast fast enough. And of course any of her binkying makes me smile.

Bluey slowly slinking into the bedroom is so hilarious. He thinks hes invisible because hes walking so slow and quiet. But when you say “Blue” or even just start laughing, he runs away at full blast binkying around the room! He is also the best service animal i have ever had. He knows when im starting to panic, so he will nuzzle me and force me to pet him. He doesnt like when i lay on the floor, because ive passed out so many times, so he will come over and either nudge me until i get up or loaf closely next to me so i can cuddle him when i ‘come to’ again. He also likes to make sure everyone is eating. If he thinks anyone (me, my boyfriend, or the other bunnies) arnt eating, he will drop hay in front of them and nudge them until they eat

Bomburs list is small, but he still shows as much love as Blue. Bombur hates to be picked up and only likes to be held if its on his terms, which is rare these days. If he sprawls by you or cleans by you, its his highest form of trust. He is a very nervous little bunny so it takes him a while to feel comfortable enough to do either of those things around someone. Its also very fulfilling when he does want actual lap cuddles and pets. Its so cute when his little angry bunny face hops into someones lap and half loafs/half sprawls. He is so sweet when he falls asleep in your lap like that. Of course, he wakes up and kicks the hell out of whoever he was sleeping on because he remembers that he hates cuddles, but hey, its still so adorable that the kicks are worth it LOL

Badger’s mental calmness is very relaxing. He is so hyper, always flying around the room running full speed, binkying, and trying to jump onto tables hes too small to jump on (he just jumps straight up thinking itll work, then looks disappointed when he lands feet first on the floor again). But when he is done or he wants attention, he will not hesitate to run into you, yes, run directly into you, then flop onto your side/leg/foot/hand/any part of your body. He is also perfectly fine being carried and held in any position which is really good because hes prone to allergy fits and needs to be held in a way i can help him get the snot out, and of course its helpful at the vets office when he needs to be checked over for whatever reasons. He knows when he needs to be calm and when he can release all of his energy. Its adorable

                  Ha! She does!

I call them her Colin Farrell caterpillar brows. No offense to Colin Farrell!

There are many reasons why I love Chester, but this is one of the main ones:

He’s such a cuddle bug he jumps on me and demands pets all the time!

When Cinder comes and jumps on the couch and grooms me. Then she’ll lay down and loaf next to me.

So far I love Apollo because he’s so fluffy, and Luna because her ears crack me up If they’re not lounging upstairs, often they’ll both come running over whenever I step into their pen though, which makes me happy, and Apollo loves to be pet. Unfortunately we’re not at the point yet where I’m getting groomed, but with time I’m hoping that will happen. They both run more excitedly for fresh hay and pellets than they do for pets, haha.

I’m hoping that once I give them access to the rest of the lounge room that we’ll bond more because they can be closer to me if they want, rather than just when I stop to pet them or hang out with them in the pen. That was one of the cutest things about Bandit, if I was sitting on the couch he would hang out with me by lounging under or right next to my feet.

It will happen, Azerane. I think it took me four or five months of figuring out how and why rabbits do the things they do and how to take care of them, but it did. I still feel like Cinder and I are the “unlikely” friendship that happened. Jock means nerd, etc. I brought her in as a rescue and had NO idea how to handle or take care of her. I think when we both figured out that we’re stuck with each other, we figured might as well try, lol.

I love how Unibunny wants cuddles twice every day. Always when I get up and always before bed. He also digs on our blankets on the bed for so long every night and it’s just adorable.
Bunita is the cuddliest neediest bunny I’ve met. She constantly has to be around me and it’s adorable how she races from room to room to follow me everywhere
