Hey so my bunny calliope started acting weird last night and I still feel something is not right.
She was thumping her foot and then she would whine. Never done that before. I took her temp and it was 103.5 last night. I know that could be considered normal but wasn’t sure for her so I put a damp cloth on her to cool her down. Took her temp 20 mins later and it was 103.9 but most likely due to stress. Checked it this morning and I couldn’t finish taking it as she is hard to keep still but I could tell it was nor gonna go above 103. It was in the 102 area. Last night i saw her pee and her urine was normal but today she peed and its this weird red color. I know that red can be normal but if it was a different color last night is that a concern?

When I look at her she just doesn’t look right. She was at the vet on Friday and he said she looked good. She was gettijg mite treatment and why she went there. But she is still eating and drinking, grooming and pooping and peeing.

Right now its 75 degrees in my place with humidity of 57. Last night I thought maybe she was too hot.
        She isn’t panting.

I do not want to bring her to the vet if not needed as I already did on Friday. But I will if I need to but cannot til Friday.

        Frustrated and stressed.

Should I just continue to keep an eye on her and go from there?

What could even be possibly wrong with her? Her teeth are good. She is spayed. I know it could be neurological but I also worry it could mean she is in actual pain.

Buns in pain usually try to hide it, so thumping is more likely her being upset about something. A sound or scent might have scared her and she’s trying to warn you of the danger. If you are concerned about overheating, wrap a frozen water bottle in a towel and put it near her so she can have access to it if she wants to. And yes. Just keep keeping an eye on her

I agree, she may have sensed something that set off the thumping. Sometimes they do a short “whimper” sound when they thump too. If that makes sense. It’s hard to describe.

What did the vet use to treat the mites?

              Thank you two so much!

The vet used Revolution on her. And thankfully she is acting normal now. She was running around a bit ago all happy.

Thank you guys. You helped a lot!

Due to the heat I tried to plug my ac back in but I only had it on for ten minutes til it smelt like soemthig was burning so I believe it is busted now I think. Something was already wrong with it when I first got it so gonna take it back. But its 75 in here which is fine. Today and tomorrow are suppose to be 83 and then in the 70s and 60s from then on. Had my window open for a bit since its 61 outside but normally I cannot do that as the mites are coming from outside. But they were only just treated with mites so it will be fine since they will need a couple more doses of revolution anyway to ensure the mites are gone. But that helped cool it down a little. I had it open maybe an hour and a half and just shut it. May open tomorrow if it gets too warm again. Several hours ago it got to 76 and that’s too warm for me so obviously too warm for them but I have two water bottles in the freezer that I will take out in a bit to keep them cool. Just gotta get through this tomorrow and then all is good.
