I got my rabbit when he was around 11 months. I was told he was a she (that’s why I bought him due to my rabbit at home being a girl). I bad another rabbit at the time. She seem to teach him the ropes of going into the litter box. A month later she passed away of old age. He still was so hyper and loving. He would even be up on my shoulder when I ate. He would always chase random strangers. He love trying to get people’s attention. Not before long he hit puberty. He started spraying and humping. My vet said there was no other way for it to stop. It was only going to get worse. So I had to make a tough decision of neutering him. He seem to only be himself after a short period of time. He still would run up to me when he saw me. He would eat lick my face. He would be him. Then a friend came over. He was scared of him. My friend would never hurt a rabbit a day in his life in his life. In fact my friend has a farm of rabbits he let’s them run wild. We tried soothing my rabbit (Peaches) but all he did was thump his foot and run. Which I guess that what his breed does. He started doing this to any body I brought over. Soon after Peaches started becoming destructive. He stop playing with ALL the toys I had leave around the house for him. He start digging and destroying my carpet on my steps. He began to chew up a lot of things. He constantly got behind the TV stand after we block it off. One night chewing every wire there was back there. He also dug up the carpet back there as well. I didn’t understand what was going on with him. I decided to go to the vet and see if he could help. All he could say is because there were bad habits before hand there will be after. He gave me tips on trying to make him better. None of them have worked. Peaches was even scared of the vet! He loved all the nurses and the vet before. We introduced some cats into our home. At first he was mad! He chased them off. They were scared out of their mad. (There were two) I tried to put them in the bathroom and slowly introduce them. He would sit on me and claim me. He would thump his foot if they came near me. I put them in a separate room. He still acted the same when the kittens weren’t around. After a couple times of it not working to introducing them I gave it a break. However one day he wanted to go into their room. I didn’t see the harm. He walked in saw them and walked out. After a month in there I finally let them out. He got a long with them and they got a long with him. They started roaming together. He still wouldn’t be social with people though. Slowly he started not letting me pet him. I started trying to hand feed him. He takes the treat out of my hand and runs. He now sleeps in the cage (that I can fit in) at night time so he doesn’t destroy things. I don’t understand why he can be more social with cats than me. I read so many forums that doing this for your animal will have no effect on their personality. However it change him completely. I am curious if ANYONE has any tips?

I forgot to mention he has been pooping and peeing around the cats litter box as well. It seems to be an every day thing.

Just to clarify, was he 11 weeks old or 11 months old when you got him? It seems a late onset of puberty if he was over year old when the hormonal behaviours started.
