        Hi,

I just recently bought a baby bunny who is now 11 weeks old.  I’ve had him for a week now and he has been rather skittish and scared.  He still runs away from me in the cage when I go to take him out.  But when I put him on my lap he just stays there.  Even when there are no other animals (dog/cat) around.  I’m wondering if this is because he’s just super scared or if this is a quirk of his that he likes to sit on humans’ laps.  It would appear that he might be a future lap bunny.  But when he sits on my lap he doesn’t really move his ears/perk up too much; He stays pretty ridgid. After a while he starts to loosen up and get curious but this is usually around the time that I put him back in his cage (as he has been out for a while at this point.)  What do you think?  Will this lap bunny behavior continue as he matures or is it just a scared/baby thing?

Not moving is a fear response. He likely will grow out of wanting to lay on your lap, but its possible he will one day love to flop next to you for cuddles
