Hello My bun’s name is Winter. She is supposedly a mini-lop, but I’m not so sure if she actually is because she is not quite 5 months old and already almost as big as the cat! I’ve only had two Dutch rabbits before this, Winter is my first lop and I have to say that everything I THOUGHT would be true about lops (mostly that they would be less high-strung/calmer), is not at all the case. I will find a picture of her to post, but my avatar is a picture of her not long after I got her as a baby.

Winter’s favorite pastimes include: jumping out of her xpen every night (2 ft. is NOTHING to her, we need something bigger!), watching Star Trek with me on the couch downstairs, munching on greens, and hogging the a/c vent in her bedroom.

Winter’s dislikes include: every toy I have ever bought her, tasting anything new that isn’t lettuce or cookies, letting the humans sleep, and peeing in her litter box

          “dislikes…every toy I ever bought her…”

Ha! I think many of us know that feeling. Winter is lovely. Her face looks like a mini lop to me, but she might be a French lop instead at that size. Odette is a five month old mini lop and is probably around 3.5 lbs. But my cats are chunky, so I can’t do a bunny-to-cat comparison

          Welcome!

Edited: I had the wrong age on Odette. She’s closer to five months old than four. Winter and Odette are around the same age.

Ok, here are better pictures! We had a vet appt. this morning and she is 5.2 lb at just under 5 months old

Here she is next to the cat, however Winter is kind of curled up in my arm and Finn (the cat) is stretched out. Her head looks oddly large here, I’m not sure why.

That photo of Winter and Finn curled up asleep on you is too sweet. Looks like they’ve both claimed you.

I did a search and under six lbs for six months is still within range for a mini lop. If Winter doesn’t grow much more, you have a mini. If she grows a lot more, you have a French lop!

Hello and welcome to Binky Bunny! Winter is very pretty!

It’s suggested that the minimum height for an x-pen should be 36″, but there are rabbits that can manage to get out of those too. Either by jumping, by climbing or by bunching up the rugs or blankets inside, and raising the side of the pen high enough to get under it. Rabbits will usually find a way. .

So, my Bella has realized there is life outside the kitchen that I have her in now. I like it to call it my forest though. I can’t wait to get it back to kitchen standards. She is trying to figure a way out. I haven’t gotten snuggles yet, a lot of running around in circles around me and nibbling at my ankles.

Hello and welcome, Winter and Finn are just gorgeous. I’m not expert but that close up of Winter makes her look quite a bit like a French Lop. Whether or not she’s going to reach full French Lop size, I don’t know, depends when she has her growth spurts. But she certainly looks like a Frenchie and not a mini to me.
