Poor Sampras has developed sterile abscesses on his neck from his antibiotics.
He’s been receiving a prolonged treatment of subcutaneous baytril because he had his teeth extracted and became very headshy when oral antibiotics were offered and struggled horribly.

I noticed a small scab on his neck a few days ago, but didn’t think much of it, it appeared clean and i figured he’d nicked himself on something.

However today I noticed pus pockets under his skin on his neck in a few places, they seem to be a new development as i feel i would have noticed them seeing as he’s been receiving daily injections

I’m going to bring him to the vet in the morning, but in the meantime is there anything I should be doing?

The only thing i can say is keep it clean. Keep the litter box clean, and the area clean. Check every two hours on him, and make sure he is not touching it.

One of them has burst (seems to have just ruptured of it’s own accord) I’ve cleaned it down with boiled cooled water, with a pinch of salt to try and make sure it’s sterile
He cant reach them, but Yumi, his cage mate can. I don’t want to stress him out, but should I separate them?

Sorry Dface I can’t help you on that one, but if you think Yumi may make things worse then yes…. at least put a fence between the two.
Do you take them together when you go to the vets?

Normally the two go together, but I can separate them, granted she isnt much into cleaning gross things, if his eyes are gooey, she wont go near them, the lady has taste.
But i’ll separate them for the night
