okay guys! quick one for you all since the threads I searched were so old. I know humping can be a sign of dominance and not just sexual. My daisy used to just lay down and let bun like her ears but now has decided she wants to be the boss! she is obsessively trying to hump him whenever she is allowed to get close enough. he doesn’t seem to mind terribly, he just shakes her off usually. I know not to let them hump head to tail but other than that do I just let them work it out? I’m not too concerned (its actually funny because she’s so little next to him! ) since there has been no aggression shown by either of them. So as long as there’s no fighting should I just let them decide who’s boss? she will try to chase him if he resists too much which  is when we separate them but even then there is no aggression or anything

I was told to just let it play out. It will be her asserting her dominance. My girl often humps head to tail, problem being that by the time I see it and get over to stop her, it’s too late Being groomed is often also a dominance thing too. Dominant bunns may frequently request grooming and if it’s been getting refused, it could be why she’s humping.

Yep, you basically let them work it out since there is no fighting If she mounts for more than about 10 seconds at a time, pick her up and put her next to him, then pet them both for a few seconds. To note, dont separate after chasing. Itll cause them to end on a semi stressful note which isnt always good for the next bonding sessions. If possible, stop the chasing, then put them next to eachother and pet them for a few seconds to a few minutes, then put them back. Thatll have them end on a friendly note instead

thanks guys! I’ll try the putting them next to each other thing. it always seems like when one wants to lay down and snuggle the other one doesn’t!
