So I have a 2 year old cashmere lop and I had him out for about 3 hours but he got tired and I found him lying in a comfy pose with his paws in front of him but when I picked him up his bottom was soaking wet and his litter box was only across the room! Now he was neutered late around 1 year (I got him neutered a week after I rescued him) so maybe this is the root cause. I tried to soak up as much pee as I could on his butt with a towel but his fur has the absorbency of cotton..any grooming tips? And is this just lazy behaviour? He rarely pees when he has access to his litter box. Thanks!

he might have a uti. if he does this for more than a week, i reccomend taking him to the vet, or it could be a horemone spike, or just too comfy to move. i reccomend giving him a butt bath. what you do is

          1. fill up a bath tub about an inch up with warm NOT HOT water

          2. place bunny calmly into bath.

          3. DO NOT USE ANY TYPE OF SOAP. rub the part that has pee with the water.DO NOT GET RABBITS WHOLE BODY WET

          4. once the pee is gone, drain the bathtub, wrap bunny in towel, keep him warm, and let dry.

          5. give your bunny a treat. baths can be stressful for bunnies.

*REMEMBER TO BE VERY GENTLE WITH BUNNY. IF BUNNY IS PANICKING IN WATER TAKE HIM OUT. STRESS CAN KILL A BUNNY.

He could have also been overly tired. One of my buns likes to play a little too much sometimes and will go into a deep relaxation afterwards. He has peed himself a time or two if hes too relaxed to get up. But if it happens often, your bun seems like he is in pain, or you just have that gut feeling, youll want to go to the vet and have him checked over just in case

Same as Mikey happened to me a couple of times. Bun was so lazy and so busy sleeping and whatnot that when he woke up he just flooded himself.

Since it’s just pee, when it happened I held him in my arms with his back against my chest and I kept him in a favourable position for my helper to clean and dry him with a lightly wet towel. Then a gentle rub with a dry microfiber towel and the bun was very pissed but good to go.
