I really want a rabbit. I am trying to get my parents to say yes in time for my birthday in September, but they are hard to convince. I have done a lot of research and I have $120.00. I made a presentation. Do you think I could convince them o let me buy a pet of my choice that I can afford? I really want a rabbit and I know everything their is to know about rabbits. I also have shown I can be responsible by taking good care of my pony. My parents know I love animals and I want to pet sit next summer. I don’t really have my own pet. I do have a pony but I am just training him so when we sell him we can make a lot of money. also in my family a family pet is a pet to whoever it loves the most. My mom says we have too many pets but she and my father had 6 birds at one time. We only have 4 pet 2 of witch nobody likes except one person. We have a barn cat that all we do is feed, so not really a pet, and a viscous bird that only my sister likes so not really a pet either. Please help I really want a rabbit and I found an adorable lop for adoption.

Tell them you will do all the work, possibly do extra chores to earn money for food.

Just wait until you’re the one having to do “awful” things to your bunny then see who he/she loves the most! Both of mine hate me! But my husband is the greatest thing ever, apparently. He isn’t the one grooming them, cutting their nails, giving them medicine, etc. LOL

I’m joking, but there is some truth there. I bring it up because you said that pets belong to the person they love most.

As for convincing your parents, I think you need to have a serious discussion with them. What are the reasons they object? What are their concerns? There are simply too many pets already? Or are there other issues?

I just got Bella almost 3 weeks ago. I am so in love. Never could I have ever imagined a bunny would have so much personality. When I got her from someone else, though it was on a whim. I had no clue the time, energy, and MONEY it takes to have one. Research more. Ask yourself without googling or anything what is GI stasis. I may have not gotten her if I did all the research first. Rabbits can be delicate and need constant care and their health always needs to be monitored. If Bella would have a medical emergency right now, I don’t have the money to get her help. I would have to call and beg rescues etc. I called the vet that specializes in rabbits near me, it is $50.00 just to walk in with a well rabbit check up. I also need to get her spayed. Which is another expense. You just need to know that a rabbit is not other house pets. Just make sure you do more research and make sure you are positive. When I called the vet to make her appointment, they told me to bring a notebook because I will hear a lot more info. I am so happy I got her though and I hope that she stays healthy and we can be happy.
