I don’t know much about the Walmart pellets but this is a guide for a good rabbit pellet in regards to fibre, protein and fat. You should be able to check what those are on the packaging.

Most traditional pellets have around 1-3% fat. One healthy exception is Sherwood forest pellets which are higher in fat but do not have a lot of the fillers that traditional pellets have.

The important thing is good fibre.
If you change his pellets, mix some of his old with the new ones and gradually reduce to amount of old ones in the mix. Some brands tell you on the bag how to tranfer them onto a new pellet.

Read the ingredients.  Some pellets contain molasses and perhaps other sugars.  We feed our rabbits primarily green leafy vegetables and oat hay.  A treat in the morning and evening.  We have bowls of pellets for them to eat at will. I try to buy pellets that are low calorie pellets; i.e. low in sugar.   So far they don’t have a problem being fat, although they are big rabbits.   Probably getting close to 15 pounds each.
