is it normal for bunnies to meatloaf and not move during the day when nobody is around? my rabbit is in the basement and i can see him through a dent in the vent and he just goes into one corner and meatloafs. when anyone comes down, he gets exited and runs around. is this okay? should i give him more toys? he has an xpen sp he has lots of room.

Rabbits usually sleep a lot and are less active during the day, so that sounds normal to me.

It sounds perfectly normal to me too. Wild horses couldn’t drag my Bam from his day-time lounging spot. Or, well, they probably could, but he’d disapprove.

Bam sounds exactly like Ben! Ben is a lazy bunny during the day, but when he was in my room, he would bite his cage all night! So I had to stay up until 3:47 AM trying to find ways to make him stop! Now that he is in the basemen, he does not do it anymore.

Chewie loafs most of the day on his rug, or sunbathes under the sofa. He comes out on brief forays: mostly reconnaissance missions, survival ration retrieval, treat rescue operations, kiss and groom ops, and potty drills.

Haha, Chewie is like Ben too! Ben is obsessed with his rag. He poops, pees, sleeps, and sits on it!

My rabbit does that as well. I’ll clean out her litter box, give her fresh hay and toys and leave for a couple hours. When I get back, it’s all untouched (a lot of the time).

But since I hang out in the room, she starts running around, playing with her toys, eating hay. Definitely a lot more active when I’m in the room and a loaf when I am gone.

Glad to know this is normal behavior.
