We recently moved to Mesa, Arizona into a downstairs apartment. We’ve been getting some crazy bugs! Harvey is only let out in one room of the apartment (he never liked to wander out because of the tile in the hallway, so I just keep the door closed when I hang out with him). I am wondering if it would be safe to spray pesticide in the other rooms of the apartment that he doesn’t go in? It would mostly be the front living room by the doors and our master bedroom. I have a large bottle of pesticide spray from before I got him 2 months ago, but I’m not sure if it is safe for rabbits. Would it not matter either way as long as he is far enough away from those rooms? Thank you in advance!

I wouldn’t risk it… it can get to him via transfer (on you, and from you to him).

I would focus on sealing potential entry points into your flat, and spraying on the outside perimiter of your apartment – healthier for you as well.

Harvey- really wouldn’t like to say – rabbits are exceedingly fragile little beasts.
I know when I was looking for lawnfertilizer, most of the products were NOT rabbit safe – I found one that was. I know it’s not the same but they are all chemicals of some sort.
I wouldn’t even like to say I would like to live in an appt that had been spray ‘pesticide’ed in the air – is it safe for humans?
There must be instructions or signs on the bottle for Fish/ Aquariums/Cats/Dogs?

To be on the safe side I would try and remove him from the appt for atleast 48/72 hrs after the spray. Is that possible?

Could you use diatomaceous earth around your apartment? That would be safe as long as there was no risk of accidental inhalation.
