This is a peculiar question, but Olaf loves face nuzzles every night and I’ve only now wondered if there is anything to be worried about health-wise when snuggling with a rabbit this way? He sits on the back of the couch, I lay my head down on the cushion, and we trade turns grooming (by way of Olaf licking my forehead and me petting him). He lets me know it is my “turn” to pet him by pressing his nose against mine or trying to stick his head under my chin, which I assume is the “bowing” behavior: “I’m lower so I win!”

Anyhoo… is there anything bad about having one’s nose and mouth this close to a rabbit’s? I’ve read that things like e. cuniculi are really only transferable in severely immunocompromied individuals but I wanted to be sure. Nothing seems to have come of it since he’s been doing this but I wanted to check in with you fine folks who are the bunny gurus!

Chewie and I kiss and nuzzle and groom and cuddle constantly – he sleeps nose to nose with me, I smooch his booplesnoot and little pink bunny mouth, and he even stuck his tongue in my mouth once trying to steal food, the stinker. The likelihood of anything getting shared is pretty much nonexistent.

Hahah! These responses are too cute. What did you do last night? Oh, yanno, just made-out with my bunny, no big deal. :]

Thank you for replying. I know it was a weird question. Just curious!
