This year, I have heard more bunny neglect stories than ever. This month, three tennagers tortured a rabbit, and someone set a rabbit on fire because the rabbit bit him. This is so unfair, (Both rabbits are okay.)And one owner kept his rabbit in a fish tank and did not feed hi , the rabbit died.  But we as humans need to learn respect for animals and learn they can not talk!  I am angry and sad.  Im crying because i cant do anything about theese people or prevent it from happening more, but i just want to tell you guys, respect animals, even if they bite, or scratch, because thats how they were made. they can not talk. they have to rely on actions to communicate. i am disgusted and sick from the news. im gonna go puke

I know how you feel, it is terrible, I see so many adverts for bunny free to good home etc, because the bunny will not play with the child and it was an Easter gift, a bunny is not a toy, bunnies can be given as gifts, but in special ways, like if bam wanted a rabbit, or RabbitPam or one of the admins and it was their Birthday for example, they really wanted a rabbit and a family member like a husband or boyfriend, mum or dad got them a rabbit, that is different, because they know about bunnies, but I don’t like when parents buy a bunny for a child as a first pet as a gift and give it away a few months later because the child has no time for bunny, its not fair on bunny, cruelty is bad, we don’t hurt animals because they nip us or scratch, no animal should be harmed, have lipstick tested on him either, common sense tells us don’t put shampoo in our eyes, we don’t need results of a test on an animal, circus animals is another thing that gets me angry, ‘Professional Lion Tamer Mauled by Big Cat’ Well the animal is tired, hungry, there is loud music playing and the smell of grease from the burger stall and children clapping and screaming and different scents it scares the animal, animals are to be loved, there are 2 animals I don’t like, Scorpions or Tarantulas, but I would not harm them and if I saw someone harming them I would be very angry, I’m a little bit like St Francis, animals are the same as humans, Animals need love and care too.

I know the story about the teenagers (girls) torturing the rabbit, and then the three teenage guys (fire) with another. I believe laws need to be much stricter about these kinds of things. The teenage girls got charged with Animal Cruelty but not really sure what punishment comes with that. And then there is a petition to ask for the full punishment and make guys accountable for what they did. These things are sick and twisted and people who do these kinds of things to animals have something emotional wrong with them. It goes deeper than us telling them to respect. And since it’s something more emotionally off with them, they need more help and/or severe consequences. Something that will get through their internally defective mindset – as it seems to be stuck in weird twisted abyss.

( And I have seen the results of this kind of abuse/neglect/torture first hand (Don’t worry, I will not be revealing any details!) When I was in High School, I did a paper on my city’s Animal Care and Control. I interviewed them, and they showed me the horrific parts of their job. I was shocked. Then during my summer in college, I worked at the SPCA Animal Hospital. (The abuse, neglect and absolutely horrific cases would go through there). I have also worked at the Humane Society as an Adoption Counselor. Later I volunteered for years with a rabbit rescue. These experiences have shown me the absolute worst in people and the absolute best in people. There are things that have scarred me for life. Images I will never be able to erase. I don’t know how people continue to work in those fields — But those people represent some of the best!. I asked some of long-time employees, “How do you go on and do this without it tearing you apart?? Without becoming furious and/or jaded.” They would always say they knew they were helping/making a difference, and that they focused on the good outcomes. That got them through.

I am not that strong as the bad haunts me deeply. But I donate, I sign petitions, and/or then do what I can in my way that makes me feel like I have helped in some way. And that DOES help me. And then I refocus on the good for a while to get recharged. I find it a must otherwise it would tear me into a million little pieces.  And this way, I can continue to do my part to help where I can.
