The bonding is not going well.

Day one: bunny date went well

Day two: he had seizure that it seemed to me he wanted out of his cage.  We did not set the area well for them to meet again, so ended up fighting and moxie got bitten on the nose.

Day three: healing, better planning for next date

Day four: they see each other over the fence that separates the house in two sections upstair and downstairs.

Day five: each bun has a playpen and are next to each other. moxie is a dutch DOB 13feb2015 and Bourbun is a dwarf DOB 23dec2012.

she is more interested and he seems pretty chill.

Day six: progress, she was stretch out on the gate side of his and he was sitting near.

Day seven: seizures started, I stopped counting after 5.  we call the on call vet and since he is not hurt hurt then appointment for next day.

Day eight: he continued having them throughout the night and this morning as well.  we took him to the dr.  and is getting lab work done.  his xray was normal and the blood sample will be send out to Washington (in Juneau, we don’t have much for anything or bunnies

during this time, he is going to take 3 types of meds: antibiotic, antiparasitic and something else that needs to be compounded.  He will be out for couple of weeks due to the meds.  Once we get the results from the his blood, we’ll know what to do next.  if the blood is normal, in order to get an MRI done, he’ll have to travel to either Anchorage or Washington.

I think at this point I need to focus on his health first.

Advice please, we are picking him up today at 4:30.  Thank you.

I’m very sorry to hear about Bourbun. I think your vet suspects e cuniculi, a parasite that can cause neurological problems. The best meds for this is what you’ve got, anti-biotics and an antiparasitic called Panacur (fenbendazole). They can be combined with other meds as well.
Hopefully this will help him. Has the vet said anything about treating Moxie with the anti-parasitic as well?
