My bun had an ear scratching problem yesterday and I think it’s back again. Ben was scratching the back and inside of his ear very hard and has occasional head or full body shakes. Someone help me his ears feel warm (not hot) and after he scratches with his foot he licks his foot.

If you are still concerned about his ears, unfortunately, the only thing I can suggest is have a vet check him out. If there is something wrong, it will be treated and if not, then at least you will know and can stop worrying.

How to I convince my parents to get my bunny to the vet?! I’m paranoid all the time with Ben but this is different.

Offer to pay for the visit or work of the payment by doing extra chores

Let your parents know that it’s best to get problems checked out right away, before they worsen. If you catch problems early, they are a lot easier to control. Treating an illness or condition soon after it is noticed, often means that you only need one visit to the vet and one course of treatment. If you let conditions worsen, it takes longer to cure them, which means more money and more vet visits, and of course, it means that the rabbit may be in distress longer.

You can ask the vet to take a quick look at the ears since you worry so much.

The vet will probably ask you if Ben has any health issues, because a vet needs to know that before a bun is having surgery. If you say he scratches his ears a lot, the vet should be able to see if there’s sth that doesn’t look quite right.
