Hi! I am currently trying to bond my 3 year old male holland lop and 1 year old female lop! I have been at it for a week and havent seemed to make any progress! My 3 year old sawyer has been an only child his whole life and is not too sure about bella the one year old! I started them in the bathtub and sawyer kept trying to jump out! At first they ignored each other but then sawyer started to constantly nip bella in the face and side. Bell would in turn cowl into the corner and seem scared of sawyer. I let him do it a few times but then i started to watch closely and stop him when he would try to nip her. I decided to put them in a smaller space like a plastic tote that is very tall to try and aboid sawyer jumping out.. Uhhh he can jump so high! He deals with her in there for a while and nips bella or trys ever so often. I have stress bonded them by dragging the tote around and then petting them side by side and the nipping still continues! I also have put them in each others cages! Any ideas on how to get him to stop nipping his potential new friend?! Or any bonding advice in general? Thanks!

I’m assuming they are neutered and spayed?

Yes they are both spayed and neutered. Things have progressed somewhat. Bella finally got sick of being nipped and mounted Sawyer. Since then he is not nipping her as much and has been more submissive to her but they are not grooming each other yet and still seem indifferent to each other. I have tried rubbing banana on their heads to encourage grooming but no luck. Bella just usually ignores him and ends up falling asleep and Sawyer just looks for ways to jump out of the tote and bath tub.
