When Thor is resting it’s like I can see his heartbeat? Could that be since he’s so skinny that there’s no fat there to cover it up? He is about half the weight he should be since he was just rescued from a really bad situation… He just got looked at by the vet before I brought him here to foster and he listened to his heart/breathing and everything sounded normal… It’s just so weird when I can visibly see like right by his front leg going boom boom boom. I’ve never seen that in any of my rabbits before…

Most likely you’re seeing his rapid breathing. It can look like a “heartbeat.” They naturally breathe much faster than we do and is totally normal.

If your vet is rabbit savvy and they say your bunny is ok, then he probably is. But if you’re still worried call them and ask.

If he’s breathing harder than any rabbit you’ve seen prior, then perhaps he’s a bit nervous about his new environment.Since the vet said he’s healthy, I think it’s safe to assume that he is doing okay. It’s sweet how you’re watching out for him. The most I can suggest for now is to give him space and let him relax, which I’m sure you’re already doing. Maybe try and surround him by things he’s familiar with so he can adjust easier.
