Bun Bun’s hocks are red and one has some scabbing on it. Would putting Neosporin on it help it/prevent infections? He’s running around fine and only seems sensitive to it when I was examining his hocks and being pretty close to touching it. He has very little fur on his hocks so I had a feeling sore hocks would come one day.

Also he has the whole upstairs hall way and my room to run around in which is all covered in carpet. I’ve tried putting mats and fleece in his favorite spots but he always pushes them away or digs at them/bites at them to try to get rid of it and ends up using a different spot.

I’ve read a lot about sore hocks because I have a Rex rabbit.

Polysporin is a Yes; as long as it doesn’t contain cortisone (the ‘original’ kind is best)

            They suggest:
Keep nails short, helps with distribution of weight
Make sure bunny is dry, no puddles to run through
            Disinfect the rabbit’s regular hangouts
Changing the litter often to prevent infection

This is a great link on the topic:

They have a suggestion that is Simple and I love:
            *baby socks*
A simpler form of foot wrap that doesn’t require vet tape and a bunch of handling.
