        Hi everyone,

My bunny has some greenish/yellowish dust or something near his nostrils. I’m not sure if this is just dust from his hay or something else. It’s not wet, it just seems like the bottom of his nose is outlined in that colour. Any ideas?

It could be hay dust that got stuck in condensation around your bunny’s nostrils.

He hasn’t been sneezing at all, has he?

Hay dust or pellet dust would be my guesses. Bunnies are often moist around their nostrils because they only breathe through their nose, never through their mouth. The moisture comes from the air that has been in the lungs and has picked up some moisture from there. Sometimes you can see a little wetness around the nostrils, and sometimes you can’t – either way it’s normal and due to changes in activity level, humidity and temperature. Dust from hay or pellets can of course get stuck in the moisture.

Unless your bunny is sneezing a lot or has a runny nose with white or colored snot, this sounds normal to me.

Only because your answer was more thorough than mine.
