Hi I am currently watching over a two month old bunny who I was told is a male but when I checked him again, it sort of looked like female genitals. My friend told me the person she got the little guy from said it was a boy. I was hoping someone could confirm the gender as I would love to let him roam around the room with my other rabbits instead of being caged up, but I have an unaltered doe(she is only 1.1 pounds so her tiny size concerned me with getting her spayed). They also seemed to have developed a liking for each other and they are laying side by side while he is in his cage. If he is in fact male, I’ll probably let him be free in a separate room until he goes home. Sorry the photos aren’t that great!

          Hi Mari

The links to images are not working correctly. I am able to open them in a viewer on my laptop, so I am going to try upload them again for you. Ill try to get them to appear in your original post. I may have to add them to one of mine otherwise. Stay tuned!

ETA:  I had to add them here.  Get ready for some up close and personal, folks.

Looking at the 2nd photo, I want to say girl, but Im not convinced. So Im gonna say im 85% certain bunny is still in fact a boy.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but I would not let them interact regardless of sex, if he is only a visitor. If they formed a fast bond, it would not nice to then separate them later. He sounds as if he is getting some companionship by being close by anyway.

I agree that the rabbits should be kept apart even if this bunny is a female. In addition to what jerseygirl said about it being not nice to put them together, then breaking them up when the bunny left, you shouldn’t put any rabbits together that haven’t been spayed or neutered. If your female has reached puberty, with all the hormones that brings, fighting could occur, along with injuries, if they got together.

Hi jerseygirl, thank you for posting the pics, I had no idea they weren’t working when I first posted them. & Oh right ): I didn’t even think about them bonding! Should they be in separate rooms then even if he is in a cage?

They can be in the same room, it’s actually good if they can be, because bunnies benefit a lot from the presence of other buns even if they can’t be in direct physical contact. Beware though that bunnies can breed through cage bars, so you should take measures to prevent that. They can also hurt each other through the bars of a cage, bunnies can really bite hard.

I want to say girl too. I take it no testicles are visible?

                      Wow… hard to tell. 2-month-olds are difficult…

They are vanessa! I think we’re all just guessing here! LOL All the more reason to keep the separate.

Yip… I had about 34 or 36 baby bunnies – can’t remember which. It was hard to tell untill they were at least 3-4 months old. 4 month was easier. The organs are so small at that young age – it makes the shape difficult to discern. In those pictures, the first looks like I can’t tell. The second looks like a triangle (female) and the third looks like a circle (male). Shew!!!
