        Hi everyone,

Joey is a four month old neutered bunny, and has been using the litter box perfectly for weeks until a few days ago. He had a few “accidents” when he peed on several different areas of his bunny room, as well as pooping on the couch and other places. He has hay in there, as well as newspaper to absorb. Is this unusual behaviour because his litter box is too clean or too dirty, or is it a behavioral problem?

Changes in litterbox habits could be behavioral, terretorial, or health. Couches r soft. Bunnies like oeeing/pooping in soft things. I dont allow bunnies on the couch or bed. 2 of my buns pee on soft things, the other 2 dont. Moving there belongings could cause it. Changes, new things. One of my females is crazy terretorial. She pees in an arra around the box, and poops ina linealong the dividing fence between the 2 bunny camps. 2 if my buns, 1 last year and 1 currently, started peeing outside the box of symptoms if serious illness. Health causes could include uti, kidney trouble, or neurological damage from parasites or bacteria. Id keep the bunny off the couch, try a larger litter box, and then consider a health checkup.
