My bunny has been taking normal poops, but occasionally he will make smaller poops and go back to his regular, is it normal? He is eating lots of hay right now as I’m typing this, he is running around my room, and he is pooping on his favorite towel, I see one or two smaller poops and about 18 normal sized poops. I am also finding some fur stringed poops but barely any fur.

If he’s shedding at the moment, fur stringed poops are normal. It means that the hair is passing through the gut as it should without slowing things down. A gut slow down from hair tends to result in multiple poops together, 2-3 that come out together in a double poop that can be oval or log shape. The smaller poops, if they are very few and far between are probably ok. Have you noticed them occurring more at a certain time of day after a particular meal? It could be simply to do with the digestion of the hair. Encouraging hay eating is the best thing

He is shedding at the moment. They are pretty far between. He is pooping mostly the normal sized poops, which is good, he is eating lots of hay too. Sometimes the poop sizes can be as small as those emojis. But mostly normal sized.

My buns do this sometimes during a shed. Make sure to groom him very well every day while shedding because if too much gets built-up in his system it can cause a blockage.
