We took indy to the vet Wednesday for GI stasis and kidney issues. We are home with critical care and an iv drip. So far we did critical care last night and this morning. When I got home from work there was a LOT of clumpy wet poops. Some quite large. Is this normal after critical care? The after hours staff at the vet couldn’t say and advised we continue the critical care. Since his appetite is almost back to usual, I don’t want to continue if it’s at all odd. Thanks!

Since your goal is for him to be eating on his own and his appetite is almost back to normal, I would decrease the critical care a bit and only give some if he isn’t eating by himself. My rabbit has mushy poops when he doesn’t eat enough hay, which might be why yours is. Is he eating hay?

Hi Floppy, one of the first things he did when we got home was much on some hay. Not as much as we would like, but a good anount. We gave him half the recommended critical care tonight. His poor bum was so gross from the mushy poops (it almost looked like the critical care went right through his system). Thank you!

Poor bunny Maybe he’s sensitive to one of the ingredients. Is he still eating on his own? If so, I would stop for a day and see if it really is the critical care that is the problem, because sometimes after GI stasis they have weird poop.
