        Hi binky bunny, a few minutes ago, bunny (bruster) got *near* D-con mice/rat poison while hopping around in our barn today, usually I put it up before I let him hop around but forgot to. I realized about 2 minutes after letting him out and he was near the poison, I really don’t think he consumed any of it because it’s very dry pellets and he’s not hungry at all (he has full food) I also smelled his mouth and didn’t smell it on his breath and did not hear him chewing either, any advice would be appreciated.

          Oh goodness, you must be worried! Hopefully it is as you suspect and he didn’t eat any. {{{Bruster}}}

          As I understand it, rat poisons are slow acting so you will need to be vigilant over the next few days. I would call the vet office to find out if there definite signs when/if you would need to bring him in or anything they can safely do proactively now. Im not familiar with how this particular poison works but many rat poisons cause haemorrhaging. I think there is a type of vitamin K injection that can counteract this. But that is vague knowlege from my having read something a long time ago. It would be best to ask the vet.

          It might be an idea to call the poisons hotline or contact details on the box to find out any additional information just in case.

          Keep us updated on how he is doing.
