Quite a few months ago our rabbit was scarring her back near her neck to the point she would cut herself. We thought it was a once of the first time but when it kept happening we took her to the vet (a vet who I no longer trust for different reasons) he said it was probably just a reaction so this injection or cream I can’t remember what it was but it was something she had to get every year but this was about half a year later and she had this stuff before and never reacted this way before. But since he couldn’t give us any other explanation we left thinking it would clear up on its own. This was months ago and the cuts are getting bigger and there are patches near where she scratches that have dry skin and not a lot of hair. So we have another vets appointment book unfortunately I think it’s with the same guy but I was wondering if anyone else has an explanation? It doesn’t bother her much and she lets us touch it but often when we wake up in the morning and go she her she’s scratched her self again.

Any chance you could post a photo or two? It’s hard to opine in a vacuum.

To me, it sounds like unresolved mites infestation – does your bun ever get spot-on mites treatment like Revolution/Stronghold?
If not, please try it – I have a feeling it’ll clear up the problem.

DO NOT use Frontline or any treatment with the same active ingredient – it will kill your bunny.

^^ that’s what I was thinking. Mites or fleas. Maybe bring up that you would like them tested for it while there…
