my crazy bunny DUG into our wall and it ripped the paint off in a pretty large portion and made a tiny hole. he also ripped a piece of the carpet off…my parents are going to KILL ME DEAD!!! do u think it’s gonna come out of our security deposit? (Which they are already taking anyways cuz we have another hole in the wall somewhere else from my dad throwing his phone in it and our dog scratched the door up too) or do u think it’s gonna be even more money? cuz they’ll prolly have to repaint the room, fix the hole and maybe get a new carpet?? what u think? super costly or coming out of the deposit? :/

Oh dear. It rather depend on what type of wall it is. If you can fix it with a plaster filler and some paint or if you have to re-wallpaper the whole room.
The carpet sounds worse, he didn’t leave the piece so you could glue it back? I hope he didn’t eat it :/
I know very little about these things, I hope you’ll get more answers soon.

I live in a house now but when I lived in my appartment,, Winnie dug up a large piece of carpet, and it came out in individual fibers so i couldnt use that piece to cover the hole, so i found an extra piece of carpet in the appartments storage room and nailed it to the empty spot. what you can do is go steal a small peice of carpet from he inside corner of he closet(less noticable) and use that. Winnie also ate the baseboards real bad, I bought plaster and had to replaster the baseboards and painted over it. The landlord never noticed when i moved out.. thankfully

Yes I suggest patching up the holes in the walls, a small plaster patch doesn’t cost much and there’s no way that a single hole from your dad’s phone would take the whole security deposit.

At our first rental, Bandit got on top of the washing machine and chewed almost the entire bottom and side rims of the laundry window frame. It was a disaster. I patched it back up and painted back over it and it came out pretty good, no one ever noticed. The trouble we have with our skirting boards here, is that they’re just a timber finish, not painted, so if something got chewed we’d be in trouble, haha.

(Am I the only one that thought to move a very heavy piece of furniture on the ripped carpet part?)

Back in my teenage, I have covered up all kinds of damage I made to the walls, and we have stone walls… plaster and paint be blessed. Be sure to clean up the wall and refine the edges of the holes before passing on to action.

EDIT: there are products to fix doors too, the proceeding is the same as for the walls. Don’t give up on your deposit! (maybe fix the door right before moving out, so that you don’t do the job multiple times…)

When I got Fuzzy, he was only 4 months old; I was moving the next month. Fuzzy chewed a HUGE place in the carpet, all the cable wires, and some of the baseboard in my condo. I didn’t get my security deposit back; but haven’t received a bill as of yet!! The patch of closet carpet is a great idea. I didn’t have time to do anything like that, so I just cleaned REALLY good. If you patch the hole & try to patch the carpet, I doubt they will notice! I thought about taking a pic & going to the carpet store to see if they had a sample that color; so I could patch it…unfortunately I ran out of time. Just make it neat & you should be fine. Good luck
