My friend knows I love Roald Dahl so she got me this game. But it comes with no instructions whatsoever, and so I was wondering if anyone out there knew how to play it – I Googled my question without much success and I’m just so intrigued because it looks so cool!

I found this review on a website which sells it which seems to cover gameplay

“Another game bought for my daughter by Santa Claus. She is 8 and just the biggest Roald Dahl fan possible, she has read all of his books, watched the films and collected the magazines that were available for a while. This is a really fun and easy game to play.

          “Contents”
The game consists of nothing more than 40 tiles that each contain an image related to a Roald Dahl character or thing. So for example the cards have things like Grandma Kranky or giants on them.

          “Gameplay”
There are three specific ways to play this game. First and easiest is to deal out six cards to each player (a maximum of 4 players) and the dealer says ” one day…..”, the next player then has to use their card to start the story, this then continues on around all the players as they play a card and then create a story. The second way to play is the same as the first but the players don’t look at their cards and to make the story they just randomly select a card from their six, turn it over and use that to make the story. The final was of playing is to lay out all the cards face down and then each player randomly takes a card to continue the story.

The games is good also to play as a solitaire game, you can just take the cards and turn them over and make a story. My daughter quite often sits and makes up stories for herself and her toys.
          “Thoughts”

This is not really a game as there are no winners so to speak. You play as a group of four players to make a story in the tradition of Roald Dahl. I and my daughter absolutely love this game. In the week and a half that we have had it we have played it on many occasions, each time is very different and depending on the cards depends on how the story goes. It is really good for improving your child’s imagination, my daughter loves trying to think of new things to say each time she plays a card. It’s also good for me as it gets my grey matter working as I try and come up with something good to say.
I would recommend this game to anyone who likes or has children who likes Roald Dahl as it is fun and really works the brain.”

I had to reread it a few times, as it is the first time Azerane had mentioned having a daughter….

Same! Lol. I’m thinking “she really has bonded well with Dory!”.

Q8, this game looks intriguing. It really promotes creativity!

I’m thinking of taking it to school and using it in class for warmups or downtime.
