So, I just got my bunny neutered today and I’m really worried because when I checked it out, I noticed that he was swelling near the testicals. The swelling is squishy, almost like it’s filled with liquid. I don’t know if I should be worried or not, but the vet said that she would call us tomorrow and ask how Bugs was doing. I might mention this to her just to make sure that it’s nothing serious. Is this squishy swelling normal? Or should I be worried about it?

          Hi Oreo and Bugs
This sometimes happens and it’s not something you need to worry about. This excerpt is from House Rabbit Society from their information about spay/neuter.

Inspect the incision morning and evening. After a neuter, the scrotum may swell with fluids. Warm compresses will help, but it is nothing to be overly concerned about. With any sign of infection, take the rabbit to the veterinarian immediately.

I would just take another look at it in the morning before you speak to the vet. Hopefully you’ll see the swelling has reduced by then.

Thank you so much, I checked it this morning and it’s not as swollen as before.
