So we recently added a new dwarf bunny to our home. We ordered a hutch online witch she really seems to like. Yet she is afraid of going up the ramp to her room. I read that they tend not to like slippery surfaces and saw her slide down the ramp. My idea was to wrap the ramp in jute cord and was wondering if this whould be a good idea? If so should I soak the jute first? Any help whould be great. Bunny Bella would be very grateful.

Jute cord might slide down the ramp too from the bunny stepping on it. We use a ramp made from a bunch of mini logs. Put it against the slippery ramp. Hope that helped!

You can either remove the ramp and put in a step instead, which could be a wooden step stool, or a hiding box that she can just jump on top of to reach the next level. You could wrap sisal rope around the ramp, but it would need to be glued in place to stop it from slipping as well, and the glue would be unsafe. Another option is feece or a piece of foam mat. The fleece could be clipped on with bulldog clips, the same with the foam mat. Though again if your bunny is inlcined to eat either of those things, it might not be safe.

Is it a plastic ramp? You could also make a wooden one, and attach little steps to it to stop the feet from slipping. Once again though, my preference is always for a step over a ramp.

I’m also thinking horizontal “steps” like these in this old thread: steps Look at the second post.

Then again bunnies might need a little time to figure out how to work a ramp, so if it’s not like really, really slippery, you could wait a bit and see how she does. If she hasn’t wanted to use it in a week, you could add some steps.
