Does anyone else grow things for their rabbit in a garden. I’m growing mint, lettuce, Kale and peppers for the animals.

I like to grow a variety of herbs, partly for cooking, but mostly I started them for bunny noms I had lettuce growing at one point too, but lettuce doesn’t do well over summer here, with the warm weather it tends to bolt to seed. I still have most of my herbs, and I’ve just transplanted some dandelions from the lawn into pots. Hoping to seed some more come spring so I can get a good harvest. My parrot likes the seed heads from basil, however my basil has recently been decimated by adorable fuzzy caterpillars.

This year I’m growing lettuce, kale, black kale, wheat grass, string beans and mint. Earlier in the spring I had radishes, the buns like the greens. I have a pretty bad slug-problem so I have to be very vigilant or I get nothing.
Azerane, my buns prefer lettuce that has gone up in bloom/to seed. They are not very interested in it before that, but when it’s become too bitter for humans to eat, it’s great for bunnies.

I’m lucky I don’t have that problem, I just got um, cats that like to dig the plants out. We also didn’t get rain for awhile and had a late start on the garden (we as in my parents.) We also have beans, and peas and things like that and squash.

Cats are way better. Cats are cute. Slugs are not =)

I planted some oat seeds (from oat hay) and then served up fresh green oat plants.   Also, my bunnies have always enjoyed rose pedals!

I’m growing quite a few things, for both Moxie and my family. (such as kale, spinach, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, cucamelons, cucumbers, zucchini, pumpkin, squash, tomatoes, peas, rhubarb, beets, egg plants, green bean, and a few other stuff. And I do know what rabbits can eat from that and what they can’t )
